Tommy Campbell Sextet: Jazz Ensemble in New York

About Tommy Campbell Sextet

Tommy Campbell Sextet is a jazz ensemble heard in New York City clubs, including regular appearances at Smalls Jazz Club. Led by drummer Tommy Campbell, the group works in the small-band tradition, using tight arrangements as a frame for open improvisation. The sextet’s sets move through standards and originals, often organized around clear rhythmic direction and ensemble interplay. Their performances favor precision and momentum over spectacle, keeping attention on time, tone, and conversation inside the band.
