Steve Fidyk Quintet: Jazz Ensemble in New York

About Steve Fidyk Quintet

The Steve Fidyk Quintet is a New York–based working band led by drummer Steve Fidyk, heard regularly at Smalls Jazz Club and in other city rooms, including Dizzy’s Club. The group draws on bebop and hard bop language, with passages that open into freer interplay. Fidyk’s background includes work with musicians such as Rodney Whitaker, Bria Skonberg, Julius Tolentino, and Robbie Lee. The performances tend to prize steady timekeeping and quick, responsive exchanges over showmanship.
