Tim Hagans Synesthesia Quintet: Jazz Ensemble in New York

About Tim Hagans Synesthesia Quintet

Tim Hagans Synesthesia Quintet is a small-group project led by trumpeter, arranger, and composer Tim Hagans, heard in New York City at Smalls Jazz Club. Hagans has received three Grammy nominations, including for the instrumental composition “Box of Cannoli” and for his contemporary jazz recordings. The band draws on modern jazz language with hints of big-band writing condensed into quintet form. The music tends to favor structure and color over overt display, leaving room for ensemble detail and improvisational argument.
