Capleton: Singer-Songwriter in New York

About Capleton

Capleton is an individual artist whose work sits in reggae’s harder-edged currents, drawing on ragga, dancehall, roots reggae, and riddim, with moments that lean toward lovers rock. In the New York area he has appeared in bills tied to NYC’s performance circuit, including a stop at NJPAC with fellow reggae mainstay Tarrus Riley for “Capleton & Tarrus Riley.” His approach favors direct address and rhythmic drive over polished crossover gloss. The result is a set built around voice, message, and the push of the rhythm section.
