Tommy James and the Shondells: Rock Band in New York

About Tommy James and the Shondells

Tommy James and the Shondells are an American rock-pop group that began in Niles, Michigan, in 1964 and built a long chart presence in the late 1960s. Their best-known U.S. No. 1 singles include “Hanky Panky” and “Crimson and Clover,” alongside Top 10 hits such as “I Think We’re Alone Now,” “Mony Mony,” and “Crystal Blue Persuasion.” In the New York area, they appear at Westbury Music Fair, where the set list often traces the shift from tight, radio-built hooks to more psychedelic studio textures. The approach favors songcraft and ensemble drive over spectacle.
