Ruckus: Opera Company in New York

About Ruckus

Ruckus is a performance group that appears in New York City programs where early music and contemporary approaches share the same stage. At National Sawdust, the ensemble has been part of *HANDEL + HENDRIX*, working alongside Dither and director R.B. Schlather to place Handel repertory in dialogue with material linked to Jimi Hendrix. Their work points to a curiosity about how context reshapes listening, especially when baroque technique meets amplified sound. The result favors structure and contrast over spectacle.
