Anaïs Maviel: Classical Musician in New York

About Anaïs Maviel

Anaïs Maviel is a New York City–based classical musician whose work sits at the edges of contemporary classical and free jazz. At Roulette, she appears in programs such as *X AMENDMENTS*, alongside artists including Carla Kihlstedt, Rafael Osés, Holland Andrews, Gelsey Bell, Kalyn Harewood, and Dither. Her credits link her to a wide cross-section of downtown performance, with collaborators ranging from Bill Frisell and Bill Morrison to Luke Bergman, Tim Angulo, and Double Bills And Buster. Her performances favor clarity over spectacle, even when the material turns fragmentary or open-ended.
