About “For Example: The Chinese of Lebanon” a film by Nina Diwan & Oscar Mooney

“For Example: The Chinese of Lebanon,” a film by Nina Diwan and Oscar Mooney, is presented in a Rock/Pop context at New York City’s Knitting Factory. Diwan and Mooney bring their collaborative practice to the stage, drawing on the pacing and framing of documentary work as much as performance. The project centers on authorship and point of view, treating sound and image as parallel sources of evidence. Its approach favors clarity over spectacle, letting the material accumulate meaning in real time.
