The Pan-American Nutcracker Suite: Jazz Ensemble in New York

About The Pan-American Nutcracker Suite

The Pan-American Nutcracker Suite is a jazz group heard in New York City rooms such as Dizzy’s Club, where the ensemble brings seasonal material into a big-band setting. The project has been performed with bandleader Joe McCarthy and the NY Afro Bop Alliance Big Band, including the program titled *The Pan-American Nutcracker Suite: Joe McCarthy's NY Afro Bop Alliance Big Band*. Its approach leans on arrangement and ensemble balance, drawing on Afro-Latin and American jazz vocabularies without turning the music into pastiche. The performances favor structure and rhythmic detail over spectacle.
