Onyx: Hip-Hop Artist in New York

About Onyx

Onyx is a New York City–rooted hardcore hip-hop act that emerged from the late-1980s street-rap circuit and has stayed closely tied to East Coast rap traditions. Known for a rough-edged delivery that sits between old-school structure and hardcore intensity, their performances favor directness over polish. Across major bills and festival stages, they have shared lineups with artists including LL Cool J, Lil’ Kim, Method Man and Redman, SWV, D‑Nice, Letoya Luckett, The Lox, and David Banner. They appear at Prudential Center for Rock The Bells Festival 2026.
