Robby Ameen Quintet: Jazz Ensemble in New York

About Robby Ameen Quintet

Robby Ameen Quintet is a New York City–based small group led by drummer Robby Ameen, heard regularly at Smalls Jazz Club. Ameen’s background in Latin and jazz traditions shapes a set built around Afro‑Cuban-inflected timekeeping and tight ensemble interplay. The lineup often draws from his close circle of collaborators, including saxophonist Sam Dillon and bassist Andrew Gould, with links to projects like the Sam Dillon/Andrew Gould Quintet. The music favors pulse and craft over display.
