Dave Schools: Singer-Songwriter in New York

About Dave Schools

Dave Schools is a bassist best known as a founding member of Widespread Panic, with parallel work as a producer, songwriter, and music journalist. Rooted in southern rock and the jam-band tradition, his playing emphasizes patience, groove, and long-form development. In New York City, he has brought that approach to Brooklyn Bowl with “Dave Schools and Friends,” collaborating with Steve Kimock, Jennifer Hartswick, John Morgan Kimock, and Alex Koford. The sets tend to favor ensemble listening over spotlight solos.
