About George Braith
George Braith is a New York–based saxophonist associated with soul jazz and hard bop. He appears on the city’s bandstand at venues such as Ornithology Jazz Club, working in small-group settings that keep the rhythm section close and the horn lines direct. In performance he has shared bills and lineups with players including Todd Herbert, Jeremy Manasia, Jason Clotter, Larry Banks, Anthony Pearlman, Brent Lerman, Jules Gardener, and Charlie Lincoln. His playing favors groove and clear melodic statements over ornate display.
