About Board Game Night In the Backroom!
Board Game Night In the Backroom! is a regular presence at Freddy’s Bar, part of the venue’s ongoing calendar of low-stakes, community-centered performance nights in New York City. Their appearances sit alongside programs such as Mimsey’s Open Mic, Humans Against Music, the Monday and Wednesday Comedy Open Mic, and “So What Happened Was…,” the monthly storytelling series. The project operates less like a headliner act and more like a structured hangout, using rules, prompts, and participation to shape the room. The approach favors shared attention over spectacle.
