Ashley Monroe: Folk Musician in New York

About Ashley Monroe

Ashley Monroe is an American country singer-songwriter whose work leans on plainspoken narrative and a direct vocal line shaped by Nashville’s writing culture. Her songs often sit where contemporary country brushes against pop structure without losing focus on character and detail. In New York City, she has brought that listening-room approach to The Bitter End, including a Village Presents bill pairing her with fellow songwriter Charlie Worsham. Onstage, she tends to favor clarity over spectacle.
