About Floating Points

Floating Points is the working name of Samuel Thomas Shepherd, a British electronic producer and DJ whose catalog moves between ambient-jazz textures, IDM, and dance-floor engineering. He runs Pluto Records, helped launch Eglo Records, and also writes for a 16-piece Floating Points Ensemble, keeping composition close to club practice. In New York City he has appeared at Nowadays, including a Mister Sunday set alongside Justin Carter. His performances favor structure and sound design over spectacle, letting long transitions do the work.
