Sam Minaie: Jazz Musician in New York

About Sam Minaie

Sam Minaie is a bassist working in New York City’s jazz scene, often heard at Ornithology Jazz Club in Brooklyn. He moves between straight-ahead playing and jazz-fusion settings, with a recorded footprint that’s still emerging. Minaie has shared bandstands with musicians including Todd Herbert, Jeremy Manasia, Jason Clotter, Larry Banks, Anthony Pearlman, Brent Lerman, Jules Gardener, and Charlie Lincoln. In ensemble work, he favors steady pulse and attentive support, shaping the music from inside the rhythm section rather than foregrounding it.
