Ojiik: Jazz Musician in New York

About Ojiik

Ojiik is a New York City–based jazz artist heard at Ornithology Jazz Club, where small-room interplay is part of the job. Their work sits close to big band and swing language, shaped for live conversation rather than studio polish. On bandstands they have worked alongside Todd Herbert, Jeremy Manasia, Jason Clotter, Larry Banks, Anthony Pearlman, Brent Lerman, Jules Gardener, and Charlie Lincoln, and have appeared in Ornithology’s Jazz Dialogue context with players such as Uri Gurvich, Leo Genovese, Sam Minaie, Edward Perez, and Steven Crammer. The playing favors clarity over spectacle.
