    About Cranes

Cranes is the project of British singer Alison Shaw, founded with her brother Jim Shaw and shaped by the band’s early-’90s run through dream pop, shoegaze, gothic rock, and darkwave. The music centers on Shaw’s high, childlike vocal tone set against drifting guitars and electronic shading. In New York City, Cranes has appeared at Elsewhere on mixed-genre bills with local artists including elibanss, ksuuvi, Backend, glost, and ss3bby, alongside peers such as Uffie and CFCF. Their performances favor atmosphere and precision over spectacle.
