Special Guests Joe Lovano and Terence Blanchard: Jazz Musician in New York

About Special Guests Joe Lovano and Terence Blanchard

Special Guests Joe Lovano and Terence Blanchard appear at Jazz at Lincoln Center in conjunction with Chucho Valdés’s 85th birthday celebration, bringing two distinct strands of modern jazz into the same frame. Lovano, a saxophonist shaped by the post-bop lineage, is known for long-form improvising and a dry, unforced tone. Blanchard comes from the New Orleans tradition and a career that spans bandleading, composing, and prominent work in film and theater. Together, their playing favors structure and narrative over display.
