Dhärä is an individual New York City–based performer working in free music, heard most often in the close quarters of Cassette’s small-room circuit. Their sets sit between electronics and improvisation, with an emphasis on texture and pacing rather than fixed song forms. At Cassette they have shared bills with Carlos Truly, Dhemo, Key Hutch, Miles Hewitt, Andy Nicholl, Drawl, Slow Down Sunny, and Untitled Freak, including nights like RIDGEWOOD RENDEZVOUS DRAG SHOW. The work favors clarity over spectacle.
