Matthew Welch is a New York–based composer and performer whose work moves between Rock/Pop roots, jazz practice, and contemporary experimental music. At The Stone at The New School, his residency programs have included *STRING QUARTETS* with the Flux Quartet and *Music for Piano* with Isabelle O’Connell. His recorded output aligns with minimalism, electroacoustic and musique concrète traditions, often using sustained sound and close attention to texture. The music favors structure and listening over display, with improvisation used as a compositional tool.
