The Dresden Dolls: Rock Band in New York

About The Dresden Dolls

The Dresden Dolls are a Boston-born duo formed in 2000 by Amanda Palmer and drummer Brian Viglione. Working at the crossroads of rock and pop, they fold theatrical cabaret and punk urgency into spare setups built around piano, percussion, and voice. Their self-described “Brechtian” sensibility favors sharp narrative framing and a deliberately staged persona over ornamental production. In New York City, their appearances at venues like the Brooklyn Paramount place that literate, dark-tinged approach in a room designed for big sound and close attention.
