Khemmis is a Denver-based doom metal band formed in 2012, working at the crossroads of traditional heavy metal and slower, weight-driven forms like stoner and sludge. Across releases that began on the independent label 20 Buck Spin and later expanded through Nuclear Blast, they’ve built a catalog that moves between melodic lead work and harsher extreme-metal textures. In New York City, they’ve appeared on bills at Elsewhere, including Elsewhere x Saint Vitus–presented lineups alongside acts like Monolord and Earth Tongue. Their performances favor structure and riff craft over spectacle.
