Ri the Band is a group working the porous border between rock-pop songcraft and free improvisation, with a footprint in New York City’s basement and club circuit. They appear at Purgatory, including editions of the venue’s DOWNSTAIRS: Level Up! Video Game Club, where rotating bills mix beat-driven sets with open-form playing. Their collaborators include DJ TK, Porcelain Vivisection, Clown Syndrome, Uncle Blender, Consumer Culture, Grace Givertz, Adelyn Strei, and Hannah Thompson.
