Dim Wit is a New York City–based individual artist working at the seam between Rock/Pop songcraft and open-ended, free-form performance. A regular presence at Purgatory, they’ve appeared in the venue’s basement circuit, including DOWNSTAIRS: Level Up! Video Game Club, where short sets and improvisers share the bill. Their collaborations span DJ TK, Porcelain Vivisection, Clown Syndrome, Uncle Blender, Consumer Culture, Grace Givertz, Adelyn Strei, and Hannah Thompson. The work favors structure that can be disrupted in real time, with rhythm as the anchor.
