About Eliza Niemi
Eliza Niemi is a Canadian indie pop and rock songwriter and cellist whose solo records *Staying Mellow Blows* (2023) and *Progress Bakery* (2025) were longlisted for Canada’s Polaris Music Prize. Her work often treats the song as a flexible structure, with the cello used as both melodic anchor and textural instrument. In New York City, she has appeared at the Knitting Factory on bills with More Eaze and Judson Kolk, placing her writing alongside electroacoustic and club-informed experimental sets. Her performances favor clarity over spectacle.
