Rahat Fateh Ali Khan: Singer-Songwriter in New York

About Rahat Fateh Ali Khan

Rahat Fateh Ali Khan is a Pakistani vocalist whose career moves between qawwali and Sufi-rooted devotional music and the demands of film and pop playback in Pakistan and India. His repertoire also includes ghazals and national songs, alongside widely heard recordings for projects such as Coke Studio and Bollywood soundtracks. In New York, he brings that range to Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, where the concert format lets him shift from extended, improvisatory passages to tighter, song-driven material. His performances favor vocal control and phrasing over spectacle.
