Ciel is the performance name of Cindy Li, a Toronto-based DJ, producer, and promoter with roots in Xi’an. She runs the Parallel Minds label and has been a consistent organizer and advocate for women working in Toronto’s electronic ecosystem. In New York City she has appeared at Signal, including bills alongside Sepehr and Chloe Battelle. Her sets tend to prize structure and tonal detail over spectacle, moving between patient grooves and sharper rhythmic turns.
