CHINAPOET is a New York City–based performer working in free-form practice, most often heard at Cassette. At KARAOKE NIGHT, karaoke structures are used as flexible scores, shifting between electronic detail and open texture in response to the room. They have appeared alongside Carlos Truly, Dhemo, Key Hutch, Miles Hewitt, Andy Nicholl, Drawl, Slow Down Sunny, and Untitled Freak. The work favors pacing and listening over spectacle, treating the set as a live arrangement rather than a fixed song.
