Creatures is the performance name for the post-punk and darkwave project formed in 1981 by Siouxsie Sioux and drummer Budgie, alongside their work with Siouxsie and the Banshees. Built first around voice and percussion, the music later folded in exotica, then blues and jazz, before moving toward tougher, urban art-rock textures and a late turn toward Japanese-influenced minimalism. Their catalog centers rhythm as structure rather than decoration. In New York City, their material appears in live settings such as Mercury Lounge programs like “Music For Enophiles.”
