Octogon is a New York City-based group working in free music with a clear lineage to IDM textures. They appear in the Purgatory orbit, including the DOWNSTAIRS: Karaoke series, where the room and its acoustics are treated as part of the instrument. Their collaborations span DJs, songwriters, and experimental acts, including DJ TK, Porcelain Vivisection, Clown Syndrome, Uncle Blender, Consumer Culture, Grace Givertz, Adelyn Strei, and Hannah Thompson. The work favors process over polish, building sets through improvisation and real-time listening.
