MGMT is the long-running project of Andrew VanWyngarden and Benjamin Goldwasser, formed in the early 2000s and first developed in the New York–adjacent college and DIY circuit before moving into major-label release cycles. In New York City, VanWyngarden also appears in club settings under the A. Deeplove alias, bringing a songwriter’s sense of structure to electronic and DJ formats. Recent bills place him at Public Records and Good Room alongside Bryce Hackford, Austin Brown, Heidy P, Ctrl.mp3, Arianna Danae, and Sean Sato. The sets tend to favor clean transitions and patient builds over spectacle.
