Kendrick Scott is an American jazz drummer, composer, and bandleader who has built a long-running presence in New York City clubs, including Smoke Jazz & Supper Club. He leads the Kendrick Scott Quintet and maintains a wide working circle that includes Eric Scott Reed, Vincent Herring, David Wong, Carl Allen, and Sarah Hanahan. Scott also runs the independent imprint World Culture Music, extending his role beyond the bandstand. His playing favors structure and intent, using the drum set as a quiet director rather than a spotlight.
