About SALT

SALT is a New York City–based group working in free-form improvisation, often heard at Cassette in sets that keep structure loose and attention sharp. Their performances share bills and lineages with Miles Hewitt, Andy Nicholl, Drawl, Slow Down Sunny, Untitled Freak, Wulfer, Ross Newhouse, and Malachi Elijah. The name nods to a “salt-free” idea from chemistry: remove residue, keep the essential reaction. Onstage, they favor economy over spectacle, letting small shifts in texture do the heavy lifting.
