About Medium
Medium is a post-punk group that first took shape in Nottingham, England, active in its initial run from 1978 to 1983. Their work sits in the early U.K. independent network, shaped by spare structures and a focus on rhythm and friction. In New York City, they have appeared at Cassette on bills alongside Alex Zhang Hungtai, Leo Chang, Melissa Achten, and Misty. The playing favors directness over spectacle, leaving space for texture and restraint to do the work.
